Threads is a one-of-a-kind collection of songs, created from the deeply personal stories of everyday Atlantic Canadians: four individuals and families who have experienced the death of a loved one and four who are at end-of-life. The 8-song album is the result of a project spanning more than a year, whereby songwriter, music therapist, and end-of-life doula, Sarah McInnis, travelled the Atlantic provinces to conduct interviews and create songs from the stories that she heard. With funding from Arts Nova Scotia and the Canada Council for the Arts, an accompanying documentary film (Pat LePoidevin & Aly Kelly) was also created, intimately capturing each interview. With musical contributions from a wide array of Nova Scotia-based talent, Threads shows us the through-lines that connect us all, even in death.
