A good friend of mine agreed to be my first interview for The Legacy Song Project, and so I invited her to join me via ZOOM as she lives on the other side of the country. Her dad passed away when she was young, and while she has opened up to me about it over the years, we have never had a conversation that was so focused on learning about who he was and the role her had in her life. It quickly became apparent to me how much of an influence he had and continues to have on her and her three siblings. Shortly before our call ended, she told me that on his gravestone they had written, "Maybe someday when we're grown your strengths are who we'll be", and that though her father is gone, his kids are living out his dreams in so many different ways. It was a real privilege to hear her talk about him. Here is "Who We'll Be".
